But, the original version better describes today’s physician-hospital relations:
Threescore men (30) and threescore (30) more
Could not replace Humpty AS HE WAS BEFORE.

The same happens with our physician relationships. How many times have we fallen (no pun intended) short on building and sustaining strong physician relationships? Once a physician relationship is damaged, even scores of CEOs couldn’t rebuild it as strong as it was before! Great physician relations are like Humpty’s story; the stronger the wall, the greater their support/loyalty. Hopefully you’re inspecting your walls and finding them stronger than your competition! Barriers to physician engagement and satisfaction are mostly around communication. A well-structure and effectively execution physician relations program can fix that issue and stop referral leakage that results from it.

Every physician satisfaction report I’ve ever read from the Advisory Board, to HealthLeaders, to Press Ganey, to the independent-organizational sponsored surveys all show the same thing. Our recent interactive poll of MGMA medical group leaders painted the same picture – loud and clear: 80%of physician dissatisfaction is related to a lack of communication.
